This has become a popular annual function. The first event was held in the old Canning School in August, 2004. We were very pleased with the large turnout of attendees that came to learn about daylilies. The next year, 2005, we moved the location to the Fire Hall in Hammonds Plains. We felt the more central location would attract a larger numbers of attendees. This proved to be a correct assumption.
So much so that we moved the 2006 Daylily Daze up the road to the First Baptist Church hall in Hammonds Plains. The Church hall provides two floors to host our events and has become our new home for our monthly meetings.
This past summer, we moved the date of Daylily Daze to the first Saturday of July. This date works better for our club members, as it does not conflict with peak bloom season in our gardens.
One of the great advantages of membership is the chance to grow the latest daylilies.
